Welcome to Festoon!
Our Daily Mission:
To awaken and inspire with passion the creative spirit within those we serve.
A message from the owner:
What an amazing journey it has been these last years! Festoon was born in 2004 with the passion and desire to present a store that would knock your socks off. We started with a 630 square foot space inside The Shops at Hager (formerly Hager Department Store) and expanded 2 1/2 years later into our 2600 square foot location. We house Lancaster City's most extensive collection of botanically correct silk flowers, boutique clothing, cards, jewelry and accessories, home décor and a large selection of locally made soy candles.
I am no stranger to the Hager building in that, having an art background in Fashion Illustration, I became employed by the department store 37 years ago. I drew fashions, returned the drawings to Hager and the next week they would appear in the Lancaster New Era. I never would have guessed that I would own a shop inside the store for which I once illustrated! Two and a half years after opening the original Lancaster location, the opportunity arose to open a second store in the Lititz area. This store is 1700 square feet and is designed the same way as our original store. Its location is unique in that it is a bit in the country but carries our signature flair to deliver an urban experience.
I grew to love being self-employed when I opened my first business in Marietta, PA. It was an avant-garde flower shop called Kathy's Flower Werks. It became one of Lancaster County's most innovative and art-driven floral operations, catering to the county's event, wedding and everyday floral needs. I operated that business successfully for almost 20 years.
I am crazy passionate about putting it all together to create the most wonderful sensory experience a customer can have. I don't know of any other store that merchandises product the way we do at Festoon. You know you are some place very cool when you walk through the doors at both stores. We boast a team of sales professionals who are the best in customer service and live the Golden Rule. I am a Lancaster County native who grew up in Manheim. I've got roots here that run very deep.
Presently, my husband Bruce and I live in the city with our two dogs Turk and Millie and we simply love being part of Lancaster with all its growth and opportunity. Our current location, 202 N. Duke St., was originally one of Lancaster City’s firehouses. It boasts an amazing vibe of urban city and is merchandised like no other boutique for miles.
Here's to our team, our customers and many more years of Festoon fabulousness.
